BL Copywriting – About Us
“I don’t just write—I write to sell…”
I love sales. Not the gimmicky or in-your-face type of sales – the type that creates trust and credibility. So you build a mutually respectful relationship for repeat sales.
Before becoming a professional copywriter, I enjoyed a successful career selling for some big guys. I started off knocking on doors cold calling, then managed sales teams, and trained other sales professionals.
This means I’m a copywriter who does more than write—I write to sell.
I understand the sales process and how copy should adjust to support every step of the sale.
From pounding the pavement to pounding the keyboard
I studied a master’s level course in direct response copywriting from one of the most recognized copywriting programs in the U.S., then spent a year and a half having brilliance mentally beat into me while I interned under the #1 direct-response copywriter in the nation. But really, he’s a nice guy. Just tougher than kryptonite and I’m thankful for it.
In 2004, I opened BL Copywriting to help small businesses avoid wasting money on ineffective copy. My goal: when your prospect visits your website, reads your brochure or email, it compels them to take your desired action.
If you’re in the Reno area, you’ll catch me sharing copywriting tips as a speaker at professional groups. Or maybe I’ll see you in one of my copywriting classes through the University of Nevada Reno’s Extended Studies program.
And if you feel like hearing from me weekly, sign up for my copywriting tips geared to help you understand what works, why it works, and how to apply it in your business. All in one quick read.
If you’d like to chat, please contact me any time. I look forward to hearing from you! If you’re wondering, “What’s with the bird logo?”, read about it below…

“What’s with the bird?”
I get that question a lot. Our logo carries three meanings:
First Meaning
In nearly every culture worldwide, from Norse to Chinese folklore, Ravens are represented as creatures who absorb, then distill the feelings and messages of human beings. Ravens are the great communicators who combine logic, knowledge and intuition to spread the voice of humanity. To me, that’s what a talented copywriter does too.
Our little bird is a raven with her beak open in speech. Her teal color represents the heart’s connection to the spoken word. The teal also symbolizes trustworthiness and honesty.
Second Meaning
Our bird is also a nod to the book, Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. We share a similar philosophy about helping ourselves and others become greater.
Third Meaning
This one’s a bit cheeky and can be taken the wrong way if you don’t know Brenda. So you’ll have to call her to find out. But I promise, there is a third meaning.
